Bump simulates the effects of repetitive shocks that components and equipment may experience during transportation or when installed and used in various types of vehicles. Therefore, the bump waveform is limited to half-sine pulses, and the severity of the bump is limited by three parameters: “peak acceleration, pulse duration” and “number of repetitions”.

Severity of the Bump Test –  GB/T 2423.5
Peak Acceleration APulse Duration (half sine) DVelocity Change
m/s(g)msm/s
100(10)161
150(15)60.6
250(25)60.9
400(40)61.5
1000(100)21.2

Number of bumps: 100±5; 1000±10; 4000±10. Impact direction: For component type test samples, the specified number of impacts shall be applied in each direction of three mutually perpendicular axes.

For equipment-type test samples, if the usage and transportation installation posture of the sample are known, and since the bump is usually most significant in one direction of an axis (vertical direction), the number of bumps specified above is only applied to that direction and attitude. In posture. If the sample usage and transportation installation posture are unknown, the specified number of bumps in each direction should be applied in accordance with the relevant specifications.
